The power is in producing your own work.
That her speaking voice is her writer's voice.
That her personal story is her gift.
And that missed opportunities are missed dreams.
April's amazing client, Anna Lamadrid in her own words:
"When I was little, there were days when money was tight and instead of the usual meat and rice dish for dinner...my mom would fry an egg. I never felt poor back then. I felt lucky. It was actually one of my favorite meals.
Today I went to a Peruvian place to get some familiar food because I'm feeling home sick. One of the dishes they had was rice, meat, platanos and a fried egg!!
It was called "The Poor Man's Platter" but it was the most expensive dish they had.
The irony of it made me laugh and I treated myself with the dish...not because I'm poor....but because my life is rich with wonderful people in my life....and I should celebrate that."
