We need your help....

Hola!

We're VERY close to finishing our long-awaited new writers class.

We have been working on this for more than 2 years, but we are finally going to wrap it up.  We will be releasing it at the end of August.

This course will be entirely focused on getting a screenplay or play production-ready to submit to a producer.  In my capacity as SimonSays Entertainment's Director of Development, I'm responsible for vetting new plays and screenplays submitted to us with the hopes of a production and I've learned a lot about:

-  what stories capture the imagination of a potential producer, theatre or film investor,

-  the top 3 disastrous mistakes that happen in the first 15 pages of a script that send a potential producer running AWAY from your story instead of TOWARDS your story.

-  the secret trick to raising $100K in 30 days to produce your project or get a producer to match what you raise

And so much more.  This new writers course will be entirely focused on how to finish your script and then how to get it produced NOW.  Not 10 years from now.  It will include 6 video tutorials, 16 hours of class time in a intimate classroom setting, printed manuals with writer exercises to help you package your play or screenplay.  It' s going to be a complete brain dump of everything that we know about getting a script ready for production.

We are going to show you all the methods we've used to get our films (Blue Caprice, Mother of George, Gun Hill Road & Night Catches Us) finished, into Sundance and finally into theaters nationwide.

We'll also teach you what we look for in a potential Broadway and off Broadway play that we take on to produce.  Plays like the Tony-winning Porgy & Bess starring Audra MacDonald or the all black production of A Streetcar Named Desire (starring Blair Underwood & Nicole Ari Parker) are projects that at first glance would only be artistic successes.  However, we weren't sure we could pull off successful Broadway runs.  But to our surprise, both projects exceeded our expectations.

And we're going to teach you the key components that made those productions look viable to a potential producer, as well as, the adaptations that had to be made to the script to get it production-ready and relatable for younger audiences.  We're going to show you exactly how you create a package that would make a producer jump up and down with glee...

HOWEVER, we need your help.  Before we finalize everything and send it off to the printer, we need to make sure we have covered everything.

That is where you come in.  Please take a ew minutes to answer this super short survey --there really is only one thing we want to ask you...

What are your two top questions about writing a play or screenplay and getting it produced that we absolutely NEED to answer in our writer course?

Please ask your questions in the comments.

meaning write every day...rain, shine, work, sleep, drunk, too tired, too many kids, blah blah...
